Connect to the Campus VPN on an iOS Device

Add the Campus VPN
  1. Download the Ivanti Secure Access Client from the App Store
    • If this is a UCD-issued device, the application may already be installed 
  2. Open the Ivanti application and enter the URL: vpn.ucdavis.edu
  3. On the next page, enter Campus VPN as the connection name and click Connect.
  4. For "Secure Access" Would Like to Add VPN Configurations.

Use Google Photos to Transfer Photos from your iPhone

  1. Install Google Photos on your iPhone. Open the App Store and search for Google Photos. You will need to be signed in with an Apple ID.
  2. Open the Google Photo app and Allow access to photos. You can choose specific photos or auto back up all photos (recommended for work phones).
  3. Sign in to Google Photo with your UCD Account. 
  4. NOTE: Photos will only sync when the app is open. So use this as your primary photo app to ensure it syncs.
  5. Choose what quality you want. Original Quality is recommended.

Updating Your Lived Name and Gender

Overview

As part of the Gender Recognition & Lived Name Initiative at UC Davis, UC Davis is working actively to ensure that all students, faculty, and staff have their lived name and gender across all UC Davis technologies.

However, you may have noticed that you now have a middle name in the Office 365 Global Address List (GAL), or the name listed is not the name you prefer. You can update your listing in the GAL by updating your lived name.

Upgrade to the Microsoft 365 version of Office

The Microsoft 365 version of Office is now available for installation via the UC Davis Self-Service Application.

Admin IT Client Services is already installing this version of Office on new computers. To see which version of Office you are running, in any Office application such as Outlook, go to File > Office account.

Set up Rules and Replies for Shared mailbox

Overview

If you have Full Access to a shared mailbox, there are a few quick steps you can take to keep it organized. Adding rules and setting automatic replies to a shared mailbox is very similar to the process for an individual mailbox. The main difference is finding the mailbox settings to do it!

Request access to a shared mailbox with the Access Modification Form found on the Administrative IT website https://adminit.ucdavis.edu/desktop-support/forms
