How to Connect to the FOA VPN from MacOS

Follow these instructions to connect to the FOA VPN from MacOS.

1. In your task tray, find the Ivanti Secure Access Client icon, click on it, hover over FOA VPN, and then click Connect.

   

    

2. In the "Please select a Realm" window, select UC Davis (LDAP), enable Save Settings and click Connect.
   You will only need to do this once. Proceed to step 3 if you do not see this window.
    

3. At the credentials window, enter your information as follows and click Connect
   User Name: your-kerberos-id
   Password: your-normal-computing-passphrase

   

    

4. At this screen, which is the Duo authentication portion, in the Secondary Password field, type in auto and click connect to authenticate with Duo through your default authentication method. If auto does not work or if you prefer to use a different method, see the steps below.

   
   1. If you have the DUO smartphone app registered as your DUO authentication device,
      type in push and click connect to send a DUO MFA push to your smartphone in which you can accept from your smartphone.
       
   2. If you have a DUO hardware token registered as your DUO authentication device, 
      enter in your DUO secondary password from that device and click connect
       
   3. If you have a landline or phone number registered as your DUO authentication device, 
      type in phone and click connect to receive a call to authenticate yourself.
       
   4. If you have a cell phone registered as your DUO authentication device and you would like to receive your secondary code via SMS text message,
      type in sms and click connect to receive a text message. You will then receive a text message containing a code to enter into the Secondary Password field. Enter that code and then click connect.
